Who died from HiCy???????????
April 18th, 2008 by Chris

Please read the last post for my improvements.

I have forgotten for two weeks to post this huge, huge fact.

Quit worrying about dying from this folks.  I would say I still felt better than what Avonex made me feel like.

The 1, ONE, UNO death from Hicy was on a Aplastic Anemia patient.  They did not have MS!

It was early on in the usage of this in the auto immune disease class of diseases and they were still learning.  They did a bronchioscope on someone after the treatment and they died from a resulting complication.  Now they have learned enough to know for 21 days after the treatment you do NOTHING.

Dr. B if I got that wrong, please correct me but I think it’s how you told it to us while we were waiting for the shuttle that day.

This is no different than finding out you have cancer, and getting chemo for it.  Biggest differennce is this may actually cure MS where in cancer you go into “remission”.  We will see.  This drug has been around since the 1950’s and they are giving you just a bit more of it.

Folks, if Tysabri works for you keep using it now.  If any of the CRAB drugs, herbal, or exercise therapies work use it.

This is for the folk who cannot get this damn disease in check.  Every MRI I ever had had something in it.  They said I wasn’t that bad clinically but I was getting worse everyday.  Severe Refractory MS is what they call it medically I think.  HiCy, Dr. Kerr, and Dr. Brodsky may have saved my Neurological life.

So quit being scared!!

I agree. I’ve watched people who thought they had their MS in check and slowly they can now not walk (or worse). I could burst, I’m so happy for you.

Hey Chris, im about to turn 30 years old and have been interested in the hicy for quite some time. In fact if you look in the thisisms archives I posted about Dr. Brodsky 4 -5 years ago around the time I first got diagnosed. The only thing I worry about with it is that it does weaken the heart muscles, and it increases your chances of contracting cancer 60%. Though if I could live 15 – 20 years MS free id be pretty happy with that exchange. (I think). Im glad to hear that you’re doing well and im also pleased to see that you have an amazing support system. AKA as your hot wife. Congratulations on feeling great and potentially getting rid of this disease once and for all. Keep up the good work and keep your wife looking as hot as you can for as long as you can. :) Later

FYI, no issue with the cancer…it seems to be a myth from what I was told. Ummm, the heart muscle thing is Cytoxin over time as well. The one time HiCy isn’t adverse to the heart accept during the treatment from what I understand. I’m fine now. Like I said, my vitals are better now than before the treatment.

Cancer can be corralled with a good diet and exercise as can a weak heart. I also have good genes.

There is no reason to think I will not die an old man.

    Yup…the wife is a hottie!!

Just to clarify about the cancer thing… The risk of bladder and leukemia increases with the total lifetime dose of cytoxin that STARTS about 3 times the amount that the hicy protocol calls for. So, at their dose you wouldn’t have an increased risk for cancer, and in fact could get several more treatments in a lifetime.
